Peggy Ludlow Death Notice

The children of Peggy Ludlow are heartbroken to share the news of their mother's unexpected passing, on March 30, 2026, after a brief illness and short stay at the North Bay Regional Health Centre.

Her family is deeply grateful for the warmth, compassion, and care shown by the doctors, surgeons, palliative care team, and nursing staff in POD D3 during their difficult time.

Peggy now joins her beloved husband and lifelong partner, Tom, with whom she shared a remarkable life filled with love, laughter, adventure, and much dancing. All who had the pleasure of watching them dance will agree they knew how to “cut a rug”! It’s comforting to know they have been reunited and will forever be dancing together again.

Many of Peggy’s greatest milestones were shared side by side with Tom. Together, they chased their dreams moving from one community to another, starting from Leamington, to Hockley Valley, to Trout Creek, and finally to North Bay. They created a life rich in experience, from raising their family to building the beloved Glen Roberts Tea Room and Story Book Village. Their partnership was one of true magic, rooted in love, imagination, and a shared vision that brought joy to generations of visitors and their own family alike. Her gardens were a living canvas of colour adored by so many visitors who were lucky to make the trip down the highway just past Trout Creek.

She was an artist in every sense of the word - a painter, a poet, a dancer, and a dedicated yoga teacher. Over the years, many enjoyed her art exhibitions and poetry readings at the Powassan Public Library. Poetry was close to her heart; a way she expressed her thoughts, love, and her view of the world.

She passionately believed in the importance of movement and wellness, encouraging others to “keep moving” at every stage of life. Even at 92, she continued to teach yoga, inspiring those around her with her strength, grace, and determination.

Peggy brought beauty and expression into the world through her creativity, and her radiant spirit brought joy into every room. She found so much joy in working with children to express themselves through art and through her volunteer work with the North Bay Carousel and Railway. She was gifted in so many ways, whether it be working in the dirt to transform the earth into beautiful flowers, turning a blank page into a poem filled with light, or using pastels to create a stunning piece of artwork.

Peggy had a brilliant sense of humour, always ready with a joke, a smile, or a witty remark that would leave those around her laughing. With a wink and a smile, no matter how many times the joke had been told, she could twist a tale to make you laugh.

As a hostess, she made everyone feel welcome, turning gatherings into cherished beautiful memories.

Above all, Peggy was a devoted and loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was truly a gifted mother who knew how to love each of her children and grandchildren in their own way, always with patience, kindness and an understanding ear no matter what. Her family was her greatest pride. Her children are heartbroken by the sudden unexpected loss of a mother whose love, strength, and presence shaped their lives in countless ways. The laughter Peggy shared, the stories she told, and the love she gave so freely will be held close forever.

Her sisters, Helen and Bonnie, and brother John, have lost their precious big sister, dear friend, and guiding light.

She will be deeply missed forever by her children: Debbie Ashley (John), Jill Latendre Langerud (Dave), Robin Morrison, Pam Ludlow (Dan), and Rob Ludlow (Kerri); her cherished grandchildren Christopher (Cielito), Aaron, Shyla (Chris), Ashley (Trevor), Kristina (Mike), Sarah-Jane (Brayden), Jessica (Mark) Shelby, and Cooper (Abby); and her great-grandchildren, Austin, Sadie, Arden, Jaylin, Matthew, Westen, Ethan, Colton, Hudson, Max, and Henry. She will also be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, extended family, dear friends, and especially her close community of friends at Marina Point, who will miss her warmth, spirit, and friendship dearly.

Predeceased by her husband Tom, her parents, her sisters Betty and Barb, daughter Rosemarie, grandson Bobbie, and son-in-law John. Peggy is now reunited with those she loved and missed so dearly.

Peggy’s life was one of warmth, creativity, and connection. Her legacy lives on in the family she nurtured, the beauty she created, and the joy she brought to so many. Though she is gone, her spirit endures - in every shared laugh, every kind gesture, and in the quiet moments where her love is still deeply felt.

Our mother’s story is much like a vibrant flower, each petal representing strength, determination, grace, beauty gone too soon and so fondly remembered. Lucky are we to have been loved by you.

A celebration of Peggy's life will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2026 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the North Bay Museum, 100 Ferguson Street, North Bay.
