Richard Charles Virag

Richard died unexpectedly, but peacefully, at Eastholme, Powassan, on Sunday, August 3, 2025. He was 71 years old. Richard was the beloved husband of Laurie (Whitehead) of Trout Creek, and the much-loved father of Amanda Byham (Colin) of Trout Creek.

Richard was predeceased by his parents Anna (Dosa) and William Virag and by his brothers William Virag Jr. (the late Anita) and Robert Virag.

Richard was like-a-son to his late in-laws Olive (Cheaney) and Ervin Whitehead and was a dear brother-in-law of Margie Currie (the late John), Eleanor Culin (Butch), the late David Whitehead (Charlene, surviving), Roland Whitehead, Nancy Bussey (Barry), Joline McCauley (Gerry), the late Debbie Ball (the late Dave) and Peggy Whitehead.

Richard was retired from a career as a Third-Class Stationary Engineer with Dyno-Nobel.  

Richard’s family will celebrate his life privately.
