Ruth Gertrude (James) Brousseau

January 5, 1940 - October 29, 2025

Ruth passed away peacefully, with family by her side on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Cassellholme, North Bay, in her 86th year. Survived by her husband of 66 years, Gerald. She will be dearly missed by her children, Randy (Sue), Dan (Carole) and was predeceased by Lauralee (Andrew surviving). She was the cherished grandmother to Amanda (Jason), Adam (Mel), Joshua (Haley), Makenna (Tristan), Juliana (Keaghan), Paige (Colby) and Chloe and great grandmother to Charles, Benjamin, Shaylynn and Miller. Ruth is survived by her brother Howard (Karen).

Predeceased by her parents Samuel and Charlotte James, sisters, Mae (Lloyd) and Joyce (Ted) and brothers, Edward (Clara surviving), Robert (Lillian surviving), Raymond (Doris surviving) and Kenneth. Predeceased also by her in-laws, George and Violet Brousseau, brother-in-law, Harvey (Jesse) and sister-in-law, Lillian (Claude). Fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Cassellholme, who for the past six years have loved and cared for Mom. They had no memories of Mom, so they respected the person Mom had become.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth’s memory may be made to Alzheimer Society of North Bay, CHEO Foundation, Cassellholme Charitable Foundation, or a charity of your choice.

The family will be receiving visitors at Paul Funeral Home (Powassan) on Friday, November 7, 2025 from 3 to 7 pm and Saturday, November 8 from 10 to 11am followed by a celebration of life at 11am.
