LACHNIT, Shirley Ruth
Shirley Lachnit died peacefully at North Bay Regional Health Centre on Thursday, February 10, 2022 after a brief illness. She was 75 years old. Shirley (Nickerson) was predeceased by her husband Donald R. Lachnit and her partner Roger Deschamps. She was the beloved mother of the late Janet Jones, Ken Lachnit (Jackie) of Bonfield and Irene Stuart (Jamie) of North Bay. She was the cherished grandmother of ten. Shirley was the dear sister of Kathleen, Audrey and the late Harry, Fred, June, May, Lorne and Roy. She will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, friends and her pet Bella. Shirley was a longtime member of the Chisholm Township community. The Lachnit family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan, on Wednesday, February 16, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Please book your visiting time below. A private funeral service will follow on Thursday at 11 am, and will be live-streamed (see link below). Cremation to follow with interment of ashes at a later date in St. Louis de France Cemetery. If desired, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation (heartandstroke.ca) are suggested.
