RAMSAY, Suzelle Pierrette “Sue”

Sue Ramsay died peacefully, at her home on Lake Nipissing, on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 She was 73 years old. Sue (Heroux) was predeceased by her husband Wilf Ramsay (1944-2021). She was the much-loved mother of Allyson (Dean Owen) of Ajax, Stephanie of North Bay, Stacey (Craig Bawden) of North Bay, and Danielle (the late Neil Baxter) of Sudbury; cherished grandmother of Natalie (Anshul), Lukasz, Lauren, Emma, Colter, Kylie, and Victoria and great-grandmother of Siya. Sue was predeceased by her parents Germaine (Gratton) and Amable Heroux. She was the dear sister of Huguette Boileau (Roland) of North Bay, Lucette Heroux of North Bay and Lise St. Onge of Quebec. Sue was predeceased by her siblings Gilles, Francine, Louise and Gaetane. Sue was born and raised in Temiscaming, Quebec, graduated from nursing school in North Bay but spent almost 30 years living and raising her family in Pickering, Ontario.  She enjoyed curling and slow pitch and spent many years involved with her daughter’s sports including coaching and being part of the Pickering Ringette Association.  When she and Wilf retired to Lake Nipissing, they both continued curling and Sue joined the Red Hat Society in North Bay and enjoyed her time in the camaraderie of like-minded women. Over the last few decades, she hosted every holiday at the cottage, where the family flocked, every Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving and summer holiday.  She also enjoyed spending time with all of the grandchildren and continued her involvement with the sports and activities of the next generation. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Sue’s life will be held Sunday, June 12, 2022 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. at the Nipissing North Community Centre (2381 Highway 654, Nipissing).
