HAZELWOOD, Violet Agnes

Violet Hazelwood died peacefully at her home in Powassan on Tuesday, March 16, 2021. She was in her 90th year. Violet (Byers) was predeceased by her husband Eric Sydney Hazelwood. She was the beloved mother of Karen Cobb of Airdrie, AB, Doug Hazelwood of Powassan and Marilyn Parker (Evan) of Suamico, WI. Violet was the much-loved grandmother of Sarah Sehl (Matt) and Matthew Cobb, all of Alberta, and Megan and Molly Parker of Wisconsin. She will be lovingly remembered by great-grandchildren (twins) Kya and Jayce Sehl of Alberta. Violet was the dear sister of Wilda Byers of Dunnville, Sam Byers (Ethel) of Dunnville, Wilburn Byers of North Bay, Gwen Hazelwood (Clarence) of Renfrew and Marjorie Trainer of North Bay. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Violet was predeceased by her parents Agnes (McConnell) and Levi Byers; by her sisters Gladys Mason (the late Tom), Evelyn Byers and Greta Bayliss (the late Hector); and by her brothers Andrew and Tom Byers. The Hazelwood family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan, on Sunday, March 21, 2021 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. And on Monday, March 22, 2021 from 12 noon to 1:30 pm at the Powassan Royal Canadian Legion. Due to COVID-19 limitations, all visitors must schedule an appointment by calling the funeral home, 705-724-2024. Masks must be worn; social distancing must be maintained; and hand sanitization is mandatory upon entry. A restricted attendance funeral service will be held Monday at 2:00 pm and will be available via Zoom.
