STEWART, William James “Bill”

Bill Stewart died peacefully on April 11, 2022 at home with family by his side after fighting cancer for four years. He was 69 years old. Bill was the beloved husband of “Judy” Judith Lorraine (Swears) Stewart of Powassan, and step-father of Rodney Blackmore (Shannon) of Woodstock, Jeffery Blackmore (Sharleen) of Brantford, and Cindy Pearce (Danny) of Astorville. Bill was predeceased by his parents Mr. and Mrs. William J. Stewart, his sisters Julia, & Leah and brother Sam. He was a special friend of Diane Mantha of The Nugget. Bill was a familiar sight in Powassan delivering The Nugget, and providing transportation for local Amish families in his mini-van, and wearing his black Stetson hat. Special thank you to the VON, they are absolute angels. Cremation has taken place. There will not be a service. If desired, donations to the Cancer Treatment Center at Health Sciences North in Sudbury are suggested.
