Mrs. Gerber was my piano teacher every Thursday for 10 years. She was patient and pushed me to play better. She loved her black baby grand and teaching. I remember her grandfather clock in the living room too. Rest in Peace.

A truly wonderful lady. She taught me private piano lessons for many years, and was an important part of my childhood. A gifted woman with a great sense of humor!!

Bertha was one of the most talented music teachers ever, and one of the funniest people as well. I worked with her when I was at the Board Office on Main Street, and kept in touch with her for quite a few years, saw her when she lived in Nipissing Village. RIP Bertha.

To the family:
What a lady. She had such an influence on so many people. I took piano lessons from her for a bit when very young, as she was active in the music of our church and of coourse at the school .
She like to accompany me on the piano, while I'd sing some songs. I recall when I was maybe 5, singing "O Christmas Tree" at the church Christmas concert.
She sat down to accompany me as usual, but this time I had made up my mind to sing it without the piano, so I told her "I was going to sing it by myself". I can still see that look on her face some 66 years later.
From all of our family, our sincere condolence

As a young, inexperienced teacher some 45 years ago, I was so extremely fortunate to have Bertha Gerber as the music consultant for our school board. Through her visits, she was instrumental in ensuring that music became an integral part of my daily planning. The irony is, I was so in awe of her, I found it difficult at first to even call her Bertha. You see, when I was a young girl she was my choir teacher at McPhail Street School, and I'd looked up to her for so long. She was so kind to me, both as a student, and as a teacher, that I'm so pleased she had such a long life. I'll add her to my prayers today.
