My heart goes out to all of Donna's family and friends. We had many chats at work on various topics and we could always make each other smile or laugh out loud. I am truly going to miss those talks. I know that she will be looking down on her loved ones, giving them strength. Fly with the Angels my friend. You earned your wings.

A poem I found years ago and read at Dads Funeral, brings a smile thinking they have things to see and do.

To Those I Love and Those Who Loved Me
When I am gone, release me, let me go…
I have so many things to see and do.
You must not tie yourself to me with tears;
Be happy that we had so many years.
I gave to you my love, you can only guess,
How much you gave to me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you each have shown,
But now it’s time I travel on alone.
So grieve a while for me, for grieve you must,
Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It’s only for a while that we must part.

We have heavy hearts knowing that Donna is gone but she is no longer in pain and for that we are grateful. She was the strongest person we have ever known and certainly fought the hardest. Her love for her three boys, Kyle, Derrek and Deven along with Heidi, Kristi and Justine was immeasurable. We loved her easy laughter, her kindness towards others even though she was hurting, her compassion and love for animals, her courage and dignity though everything was amazing and her love for Kim and I was felt each and every time we were with her and will never be forgotten. As always Donna, love and hugs.

Every once and awhile someone comes into your life who overwhelms you with their courage, poise, dignity, and kindness. I was so very blessed to have met Donna and to experience her utter warmth. We only knew Donna vaguely, we came in contact a few times, once she stopped to help me help someone that was stuck in the snow...and the other time was when we had a hydro outage and she put some of her groceries in my freezer because there was a tree across the road and she couldn't drive any further, so she stayed with us for a bit till she could get past the blocked road. She was such a high spirited personality, so appreciative, and thankful. Cindy has told me so many wonderful things about Donna, Cindy and Kim thought so much of her....they will miss her dearly.
