STILLAR, Sheldon Ronald

Sheldon Ronald Stillar died peacefully, following a brief battle with lung cancer, on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at North Bay Regional Health Centre. He was in his 79th year. Sheldie was the beloved husband and best friend of Bernice (Brooks) of Loring. He was predeceased by his parents Jean (Robertson) and Isaac Stillar and his sister Delta Whitmell. He will be missed by his large extended family of sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. Sheldie was the Chief Mechanic for the Brampton Fire Department, where he worked for 27 years, prior to retiring to his lakefront home in Loring.  Visitors will be received at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 415, Port Loring on Sunday, August 30, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Royal Canadian Legion Branch 415, Port Loring will perform a tribute service at 7:00pm. The funeral service will be conducted in the Legion on Monday, August 31 at 11:00 am, followed by interment at Port Loring Cemetery. If desired, donations in memory of Sheldie to Royal Canadian Legion Branch 415, North Bay Regional Health Centre ‘Foundation Kidney Clinic or the Northeastern Ontario Cancer Care Centre (cheques please) are suggested.
