Dear Marg: I am reminded of the many times you and Gavin visited me in my little house on the prairie and the great fellowship we shared. Also of the regular phone calls I received every Christmas from Gavin just checking how we were doing. I was saddened to see Gavin's obituary on this site. But then I asked myself why I am saddened. Gavin would be the first one to remind me he is not only in a much better place but that he is with his Lord, whom he loved deeply and served willingly. He would want us to rejoice that he is home. I know rejoicing is hard right now for those Gavin has left behind. I will pray that your time of mourning is not long before you will be able to rejoice with Gavin that he has run and good race and received the prize which the Lord promised him.

Dear Marg and Family:
We were saddened to hear about Gavin's passing . Of all the many family members I have Gavin was the one I knew best simply because he made a point of keeping in touch. Family was so important to him, a Blessed Soul he will be missed by so many and his absence at the Family Reunions will be deeply felt. Much Love and Many Blessings to you all.

We were truly saddened when we received word of Gavin's death. He and I (Richard) were almost the same age and were one grade apart in SS #1 Chisholm and were such good friends back in those long ago days. We have a picture taken the day the oldest Sommerville son and the oldest Boehme son were baptized. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Marg, and all your family. "In life, in death, in life beyond death, God is with us. We are not alone."

We were saddened to hear of Gavin's passing. On so many levels our lives have been blessed by knowing him - as his Pastor, as a fellow christian and as a friend. We will miss him and his voice at the "Christmas Phone Call".
We do have good memories of time at the Farm around the table; of Church Board meetings, of travels to youth rallies; and fellowship. But, the joy that Gavin is experiencing now is far greater - he is home.

Gavin was one of the finest Christian men I have ever known. His commitment to his Lord, to his church and to his family was exemplary. I served as his pastor for six years and always felt his support and prayers. After leaving the church, he called me at least twice a year just to check up and see how I was doing in my new ministry. Earth will be much poorer loosing Gavin. My prayers go out to Marge and his family.

I will truly miss Uncle Gavin. He never made a trip out west without stopping to see me, going or coming back. Coming back was great because I got to hear and see pictures of family I have never met in the west. He always had stories to tell and would fill me in on the cousins. Gavin was a great man, I will miss him. He and Marg were there for me when I needed an ear and good foster parents. The youth group rides he assisted on piling as many of us in his vechicle. My condolences to all family members.
